County Government
The Osage County Commission is a 3-person elected
board that is responsible for County government functions such
as budget, setting
policy and performing executive functions. Each commissioner
serves for four years with staggered terms. The county commissioners
meet
every Monday at 9:00 am at the Osage Co. Courthouse. To be placed

Osage County comprises 720 square miles and includes the following
townships:
Agency, Dragoon, Junction, Ridgeway,
Arvonia, Elk, Lincoln, Scranton,
Barclay, Fairfax, Melvern, Superior,
Burlingame, Grant, Olivet, Valleybrook
Each township elects a treasurer, trustee and clerk that serve
for four years in staggered election terms.

Osage County is zoned and has adopted a comprehensive plan for
future zoning and management. Permits are required for certain
building activities and include general building permits, special
use permits, change of zoning, wastewater, subdivisions and lot
splitting. These permits may be obtained at the office of the
Land Use Coordinator at the Osage County Courthouse.
